Cash America is company which offers “specialty financial services” throughout their network of retail storefronts in both the United States and Mexico, as well as in many other countries through their online websites.

They claim that they have more than 900 physical locations available to use throughout the United States and Mexico and are currently the largest provider of secured non-recourse loans, which are also known as “pawn loans.”

Pawn loans are loans which are not based on your financial standing and do not take into account your credit score. Rather you provide Cash America with an item of value and they will loan you the appraised value of that item for a certain period of time.

Most pawn loans last around 30 days, though you can apply for extensions and in some cases even a renewal. If you are unable to pay back your loan when it eventually comes due, you forfeit your item and the loan will be considered paid.

You can also sell your item directly to the pawn shop for its appraised value, without any need of taking out a loan if that is something that you prefer to do. And whether you hope to make a sale or secure a loan, Cash America accepts jewelry, electronics, instruments, tools, and more.

In addition to pawn loans, Cash America also offers short term cash advances and cash checking at some of their locations – you will need to check their website or call your local store to see if they offer these services.

Finally, they also offer auto equity loans. Unlike pawn loans, auto equity loans do require that you be in decent financial standing as they will need proof of your credit score and proof of income.

The loan will be based on the current Kelley Blue Book value of your car, and some states have laws which require that your car have a minimum value in order to be considered for an equity loan. Also, you will be able to keep your car throughout the duration of the loan.
